Robinson Bridge has received its second international recognition, this time, the Winner’s Award for the BIG See Architecture Award 2024 in Public, cultural and infrastructure buildings category. Our application with the bridge was specifically requested by the curators and selected winner based on criteria of innovation, intelligent design, originality, functionality and environmental&social sensitivity.
Designing and constructing a curved, asymmetric cable-stayed structure is among the greatest challenges in the field of civil engineering – we feel extremely validated that besides its engineering values the structure is also recognised for the above qualities by an esteemed architectural jury. As the bridge is part of the National Athletics Centre, it was designed with the same architectural language as the neighboring Athletics Stadium.
Congrats to the design team, as well as our client, ÉKM (the Ministry of Construction and Transportaton) and NAPUR Architect, manufacturer Acélhidak Ltd., and contractor #Hídépítő Co. and the joint venture of general contractors ZÁÉV Építőipari Co and Magyar Építő Co.
BIG thank you to BIG See for pointing out the values of this cycle bridge, we were proud to represent our country!
